Capitol Ballet Center is the leading ballet school in the Sacramento area, offering an outstanding education in dance for students ranging in levels from pre-dance to professional.

Under the direction of Stuart Carroll and Sharon Newton, students develop a technical and theoretical understanding of ballet, and are challenged to improve artistically to reach their full potential as dancers.


The curriculum emphasizes contributions of the Vaganova/Darvash Method, and reflects the stylistic influences of the Royal Ballet School. Students are given the opportunity to work with professionals and to gain valuable performance experience in productions that meet the highest standards. Dancers acquire an appreciation for the art form of ballet and its long, theatrical traditions.


In addition to ballet classes, Capitol Ballet Center offers instruction in Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern and Character dance styles. Fall, Winter and Spring sessions run 12-weeks per session. A summer session is also offered each year and generally runs from mid-June through the end of July.
